Rob and Katie’s family continues to grow – they now have two boys and two girls. We had a great time at their session and I always love working with them!

So wonderful that Olivia and Tyler came back to us for their family photos! Their daughter is just so cute and we had such a great time at Hartwood Acres taking these.

No wedding party beyond flowergirls and ringbearers? A first look and a laid back vibe in the mountains? Sign me up right now!

These two didn’t want to do many detail shots or prep shots, but we focused on images together with the bride and groom – photos of the couple are my favorite. After a first look on the grounds of Green Gables, we traveled around the property and then the couple married in the meadow. After an outdoor ceremony, they had cocktail hour on the patio and the couple was able to join in and greet their guests. The reception dinner (the couple selected the venue in part for the food) was held inside the ballroom which definitely has a more medieval feel – I’ve never watched Game of Thrones, but I picture that vibe!

Jillian and Ryan met on Hinge and had their first date at the Allegheny Wine Mixer. They got engaged at Riding Meadow Park and they love their two dogs. I loved hearing the speeches from their family and friends and hearing about their honeymoon coming up – camping and hiking in Peru at Machu Picchu. Together, they love gardening, dogs, travel, hiking, national parks, and family.

Walking into the suite at Hampton Inn on Stephanie’s big day, I saw the large “BRIDE” balloons above the headboard and the cute little mimosa bar set up and I could tell this day was going to be gorgeous and fun.

Matthew and the guys went out to the golf course early in the morning and played 9 holes in a scramble – we met them on the course for a few shots. Then the ladies got ready in the suite together – I loved that even though it was mid-September, Stephanie still went with a burgundy and navy blue look – it’s the perfect transition color into fall.

The sky was overcast and the weather very pretty as we took photos of the ladies and men outside before the ceremony. There was rain – but it was perfectly timed during the ceremony and cleared up by the time formal photos started of the wedding party and couple.

Some of the elements I loved from this day – their neon sign, Stephanie’s gorgeous smile and laugh, Stephanie wearing her hair down and the motion that brings, the amazing cake, and the wafers that went on top of the signature drinks to represent their two dogs who were at the wedding in spirit!

I loved hearing their personal vows – they met in college at UPJ and got engaged at home after a night out at one of their favorite restaurants, Village Inn.

These two made time for a special sunset sneak out where they could be by themselves and take in the whole day and I loved when Matthew picked Stephanie up and spun her around. It was an absolutely gorgeous day for photography and these two had such sweet spirits – I am honored to have been their photographer.

On Labor Day weekend 2022, Heinz Chapel hosted their second Simply Styled Weddings. Similar to a pop-up wedding event/elopement, each couple had an hour for a ceremony at Heinz Chapel, a short photoshoot in the chapel, and then a small reception with champagne and a Pittsburgh cookie table. Couples were allowed to have up to 30 guests at the wedding. I know some couples were going on to have dinner or an additional reception afterwards at a local restaurant.

Couples were able to customize the cookies and bouquet style. Heinz Chapel arranged the officiant, photographers, floral, cookies, calligrapher and the organist. It’s just bring your own marriage license and guests! Congratulations to all the couples!

We first met up with these two LAST Labor Day weekend for a fun session with ice cream and their dog up at a campground near their home. Then, THIS Labor Day, these two got married! They actually got engaged at their friend’s camp and Banner (the dog) played a part in the proposal too wearing a bandanna!

Rain threatened all day, but it held off! It was a hot one at Armstrong Farms Westminster Barn, but it was so beautiful. Some of my favorite details were Jess’s cowboy boots and the gift she carefully put together for Austin (socks for cold feet, a smart watch so he would be on time, etc). And of course, Banner – Banner is a beautiful lab and so incredibly well-trained! During the ceremony, Jess and Austin burned their personal vows on special wish paper at the unity candle.

We started with the ladies in the big cabin, then moved to the guys in the little cabin right there. The ceremony was able to be held down by the pond – and the two resident geese there kept their distance! Then the dinner was in the tent (which is in a new location now!) and reception dancing in the barn. The barn doors stayed open all evening and people spilled onto the lawn celebrating the last weekend of summer.

After some night shots, Jess and Austin did one of the most incredible exits I have ever seen – confetti and lighted balloons – it was spectacular. I would have said goodbye to them but I saw them walking alone towards the honeymoon cabin in the evening darkness just having a moment alone and I thought it was a perfect ending to a perfect day!

I loved Danielle’s vision for her session. It was over ninety degrees and she really hung in there in the heat! This was such a fun maternity session!

It was great to meet up with Allison and Chad again! They were originally going to get married at Heinz Chapel but were not able to due to the pandemic so we did their mini session here instead. Always great to see you guys!

Maria and Hank got married on a hot, hot summer day at Southpointe Golf Club. Maria’s mom helped her plan her wedding since they were long-distance from the venue. Maria and Hank were looking for a venue where they could come in and have everything already there and ready to go.

Maria got ready in the locker room at Southpointe with her ladies while Hank got married at the nearby AC Hotel by Marriott. Then they met up for a first look – one of Maria’s most important photos to her was Hank’s reaction to her on the first look. It was lovely!

Good thing everyone wore their sunscreen, because we headed out on the course and got lots of photos in the sunshine. The pink and peach colors really made for a beautiful late summer look.

The couple were married outside on the steps behind the golf club. They had some Penn State touches (since it is their alma mater and where they met!) at their reception and one of my favorite things – a cardboard cut-out of the Queen of England made it to the dance floor during “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. These two danced their hearts out and then headed out for a sparkler send off!

This wedding marks our final Covid reschedule – these two got engaged right before the pandemic, on New Year’s Eve in 2019 (heading into 2020) – so they planned a nice long engagement and a wedding for August of 2021. But Covid had other plans – and they FINALLY had their ceremony and reception in August of 2022!

Jessica’s planning and style was impeccable. She had 7 bridesmaids and 2 bridesmen – and 4 of these attendants were even from her elementary school classes. I loved hearing about Jessica growing up – going to White Oak Park and the local Dairy Queen when she was little (she and Ian eat quite healthy now, which her dad was joshing her about during his speech). Ian’s a quiet guy and I love their energy and spirit together.

The flowers were beautiful, as was Heinz Chapel. The weather called for rain but of course it didn’t! The florals were absolutely amazing and Jessica picked some of the top vendors – Alex Robba’s cake looked perfect and May Chester’s design around the sweetheart table was perfection.

The day was humid – and one of my favorite moments was when we were taking some evening shots in the fireplace room. Ian had his hand on Jessica’s shoulder and it was just one quiet moment to have together before they headed back into the dance party, where Ian scooped Jessica up for the camera and swirled her around – making a perfect ending shot to a perfect day.
