Caitlyn and Brian – in the rain – New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve weddings are fun, but challenging as a photographer! The ceremonies (if held at church) typically take place close to sunset, and then the weather is often rainy – and where can we go in the dark and cold for photos if not doing a first look? The hotels are often busy too!
Except Caitlyn and Brian didn’t have cold – it was 50 degrees! Caitlyn had a fur but didn’t need it much!
Caitlyn wore her mother’s gown (shortened to tea length to reflect her own style) – her parents got married in December themselves, so their anniversaries are very close together! Caitlyn also had a reception dress made for her by a family friend.
Caitlyn is a beekeeper and a ballerina, and Brian is a retired ballet dancer as well – that’s how they first met! They bought Caitlyn’s grandfather’s house and as a couple who are in ballet – it’s so nice they were able to settle close to home (often dancers go where the opportunity takes them it seems). Brian and Caitlyn have an adorable dog and cat and I loved seeing them represented on their wedding cake.
And of course these two had the moves on the dance floor. We had so much fun with them spinning, swirling, running around on Mount Washington with umbrellas – the clock struck midnight and their final whirling dance was to Piano Man and it was incredible. The day was about 17 hours for us as photographers but it FLEW by!
What a pleasure to spend 2022 AND 2023 with you two!
Note to the couple:
