These two are a Bumble success story! They had their first date at Smallman Galley (which has since closed, but they got a sign from there as a keepsake!) Clara and Robert are both in the mental health field and Clara and Mochi (her dog and ringbearer) are actually a therapy dog team – but as we found out during the wedding at the “shoe game” – Mochi actually really bonds with Robert.
Clara wore Converse shoes under her gown and the couple got ready together! They had brunch together in the morning as well and walked down the aisle together when the ceremony started. This was the first time Clara’s family had all been in one place since December 2019. Robert and Clara also used Robert’s great-grandma’s wedding band for Clara during the ceremony (and there was a super cool photo of Robert’s grandma on display with the Clemente Bridge in the background).
Robert’s favorite flower is sunflowers so that was incorporated and the two had a non-traditional wedding part as well. The weather was hot hot hot for June, but everyone including Mochi made the trek up to Mount Washington for photos. The music was blasting all night – as an homage to Robert’s love of music as he sends Clara love songs. And Clara’s parents are avid ballroom dancers, so her dad led everyone in instruction on the dance floor. Instead of cake – Jeni’s ice cream was served! I love all the personal touches and non-traditional ways this couple brought their relationship and personalities to the wedding day table!
