I first met Mackenzie doing her sister Kylie’s wedding back in 2017. Now it was Kenzie’s turn for her big day!

Kenzie finished up nursing school and has been working hard throughout this pandemic as a new nurse while also being a momma to Callie and new arrival Evey! Having a baby just a few months before a long-planned wedding is not for the faint of heart, but Kenzie is very laid back and also go with the flow.

I loved her wedding day style. She went with a great floral crown headpiece AND an overskirt for her dress for the reception only. She got ready at the June Cottage at Grayson House – Grayson House is a newer venue in Uniontown and the aesthetic is nice and neutral with white walls and chandeliers. The June Cottage matches that aesthetic.

We got lucky – the leaves JUST started changing here in the mountains for this wedding!

After the getting ready at Grayson House (and the Elk Room for the guys), the couple did a first look. After the first look, we headed to the ceremony location at Jumonville. Jumonville is a pretty big, definitely cool Christian summer camp and retreat center. And we’re talking real camp – bunkhouses, etc.

Kenzie and Dustin share a strong faith and the Jumonville cross meant a lot to her. We had to wind up through the fog – the cross is usually visible for miles around but with the fog, we couldn’t see it until we pulled right up on it! It was a bit of a challenge but I actually LOVE the results – it was more magical than a plain shot of the cross and couple together!

Kenzie had plans to do her ceremony at Green Cathedral, which is quite beautiful, but due to the heavy rain (thanks, Pittsburgh, you know how it is!), she went with her backup plan of the Whyel Chapel. But that’s okay because there were plenty of great photo spots RIGHT by the chapel.

Then we headed back to Grayson House for the reception. Dustin and Kenzie chose delicious BBQ and had a donut wall as a sweet surprise! I loved all their special dances – first dance, father-daughter, mother-son, but then Dustin danced with Callie to Elvie Shane’s “My Girl” – about a dad and stepdaughter’s relationship – there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. I also loved Kenzie and her mom dancing together (Kenzie’s mom recorded the song!) and then Kenzie and Callie (and Callie sang on this recording).

This was such a beautiful wedding and we had an amazing time with this lovely couple, sweet family, and big bridal party! It was an honor to work with your family again!

Note to the couple:

Kenzie and Dustin, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day! It was a pleasure to work with the two of you! We thank you for choosing Kristen Wynn Photography and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness always. Congratulations!
