This was a wedding made for the ultimate guest experience. So often on a wedding day, couples are pressed for time. Everything is rush rush rush and there are so many special events that there is scarcely a chance to greet all the guests, dance a dance, drink a drink, and then the night is over. But Reese and Michelle made so many excellent choices during their planning and they were able to have a great night at the reception with tons of chatting and dancing – they kept only the traditions that were important to them and left the ones that didn’t matter to them (garter toss, bouquet toss, numerous speeches) at the door.
Michelle and Reese started dating four years ago after meeting online. Michelle comes from a big family and I loved seeing how everyone came together to help them with their wedding – so many helping hands from sisters and sisters-in-law. The day called for rain but we only had a light sprinkle and overcast skies.
Reese and Michelle shared an emotional first look and we got most of their photos done prior to the ceremony – so they could go and enjoy their cocktail hour.
I don’t often get choked up at weddings, but the sun came out just a little as Michelle and her dad came down the aisle and I teared up seeing her smile as she approached her groom.
Michelle did a beautiful job with her floral selections and she looked incredible in her gown. Scrolling through Instagram and Facebook the morning after the wedding, I noticed many guests kept remarking on the wonderful time they had at the wedding – the dance floor was packed all night and I know the bride and groom worked hard at all the music selections and with the food and alcohol choices they had – all about the guest experience.
With some couples, you can just tell they already have such a strong marriage-like partnership that the wedding is just making it official. I can tell that this is Reese and Michelle from their interactions together and their teamwork and communication – they’re already such a great couple together and I can’t wait to see where life takes them!
Note to the couple:
