It’s been almost twenty one months since we worked at Heinz Chapel. Just typing that sentence – it doesn’t feel real. We’re usually there once a month! This wedding felt like a reunion for us!
Gina and Stephen got ready for their beautiful wedding in Shadyside – it’s so nice that Stephen’s parents live just five minutes from the couple in a stately 1930’s style home – the lighting was just perfect for groom’s prep. Gina and her ladies got ready in their townhouse nearby (where the proposal happened) – the master bedroom also had some great light – and Allison and I hid in the spacious closet to photograph the dressing and prep.
Gina and Stephen made our job easier because they didn’t have a ton of requests and because of that, we could really be creative and just take the opportunities where we saw them. For example, the hydrangeas outside Heinz Chapel in the courtyard were blooming. These flowers only bloom for such a short time each year – so we had to snag some photos with them.
The day was overcast, but that’s okay – I planned a stop at a colorful location to bring some spring/summer brightness into their portraits and we got some great staircase shots too. Our bridesmaids were troopers – some of these ladies were expecting and still climbed up the steps and walked all around the campus.
These two planned a great timeline – they had time for all their photos and they even got to join in on their cocktail hour. Their wedding could be best described as simple, pretty, and elegant – which is perfect for this easygoing duo who like hanging out with their dogs and doing home improvement projects, because teamwork makes the dream work, baby.
Speaking of dream work – I’m so fortunate to have worked with these two!
Note to the couple:
Gina and Steve, it was a pleasure to work with the two of you! We thank you for choosing Kristen Wynn Photography and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness always. Congratulations!
