2020 has been a wild ride! Let’s talk timeline: in March-May, the shutdown prevented most weddings from happening. But then, there was a glimmer of hope for June and July weddings! For a few golden weeks, restrictions were lifting and it was full speed ahead on planning with backup dates ready just in case.

A few weeks before Amy and Jeff’s big day, they had to change their reception site as more restrictions came down. And THEN, nine days before the wedding, they had to move to a tent behind White Barn due to further restrictions. I feel like these two planned three different weddings!

And I held my breath as Thursday and Friday passed with no more restrictions announced – they were able to have their beautiful wedding with an outdoor reception! I have just loved these two and was looking forward to their wedding all year – so glad we got it in!

Amy and the ladies got ready at Amy and Jeff’s beautiful new townhome – and Amy decorated the home so nicely! The area is still under construction (it’s that new!), but we made some lovely portraits with the ladies in front of the classic garage door.

Jeff and the guys were together and having a great time at the hotel!

One of the things I loved about this wedding was the excitement and joy on their faces right as they kissed. Finally, finally married – in the midst of a year when it sometimes didn’t seem like this would happen!

Our original plan would have been photos around downtown Pittsburgh based on their original reception location – and we had already done a park/greenery session for their engagement. So I found a lovely spot in Historic Harmony for their photos (thanks so much, Jenna Hidinger, for the suggestion!) – I love how this went with their light/bright/airy aesthetic.

It felt like 100 degrees outside, so we made sure to get them to the bridal suite to relax. The party carried on all night in the tent and ended with a sparkler exit! Before the sparklers though, there was an absolutely beautiful sunset – I was so happy for them because while Point View Hall has a great sunset view, so do the grounds at White Barn! I just felt the joy the whole night – merry and married, outdoors, through all the trials and tribulations this year has brought.

Note to the couple:
Amy and Jeff, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day! It was a pleasure to work with the two of you! We thank you for choosing Kristen Wynn Photography and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness always. Congratulations!
