Cara and Nick first met at Robert Morris University. They have been together for over 6 years and currently reside in Panama City Beach, Florida. They have been planning this wedding for almost a year and a half and the week of the wedding Hurricane Michael hit their town. While Cara was in Pittsburgh, Nick stayed behind and rode out the hurricane in their restaurant, Tudor’s Biscuit World. Once the roads were open, Nick ended up driving over night Thursday into Friday. Cara and Nick graciously asked their wedding guests for donations for their employees, who they consider family. Thankfully, all of Cara and Nick’s employees are safe, although some did lose their homes.
We first met Cara a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid in two different weddings. Both Cara and Nick got ready at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square. Their dog Shelby, a puggle, was there for prep in the morning and even made a special appearance at the reception in the ballroom later that night!
The ceremony was held at St. Bernard Church with portraits right after at Dormont Park which was only a few minutes down the road. What would a Pittsburgh wedding be without a stop on Mt. Washington? We had a few moments to take just the bride and groom on Mt. Washington. We couldn’t have asked for better light!
During the cocktail hour, there was a cigar bar on the Sheraton’s balcony. As their wedding favors, all the guests got a jar of Tupelo Honey, which is a special kind of honey that is only produced in northwestern Florida. The song they shared their first dance to was also “Tupelo Honey”.
