Sarah and Dennis are married!
Last fall, we did their engagement portraits down in Oakland, and in July, they were married on a very rainy Saturday.
Rain on a wedding day can always make photography challenging – but we were so fortunate to find covered areas at a local farm and have a few small breaks in the rain too to get some outdoor photos.
Sarah and Dennis are both music teachers, so music definitely played an important part in their service. Sarah also had a “bridesman” on her side – a male friend standing up for her instead of splitting the bridal party up by gender – I love this new trend.
We started at the bride’s parents’ home where the bride and her attendants were getting ready, then headed to the home of a groomsman for the men’s prep.
We found some covered areas for the ladies’ portraits in order to still get some natural lighting, and then we all headed to church for a traditional Catholic service. Following the church service, we stopped at Schram’s Farms for some portraits, and then it was on to Westmoreland Country Club for dinner and dancing!
And then, at the very end of the night, we used the rain to our advantage with pretty droplets all around.
Rain is good luck on a wedding day; Sarah and Dennis are so sweet together – I hope your wedding was everything you dreamed of, a classic fairytale. Sarah and Dennis, thanks so much for being an amazing couple and wonderful clients! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love together!
